Landscape and cars had to work together in the video: hairpins from above, the convoy in the bends and close shots that convey the driving experience.<\/p>\n<p>On a tour you have to stay mobile: take-off spots must be found quickly, and light and weather change from pass to pass. That\u2019s why three drones with different strengths were used.<\/p>\n<h2>Equipment and permits<\/h2>\n<p>DJI Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X7 (6K), DJI Mavic 2 Pro, DJI FPV, plus GoPro HERO9.<\/p>\n<p>Pilot and camera: Jochen Riehm. Austria, Italy and Switzerland partly have their own rules and protected areas, which we check before the tour.<\/p>\n<h2>FAQ<\/h2>\n<h3>Can you film with a drone in the Alps?<\/h3>\n<p>In principle yes, but national parks, protected areas and some passes are closed or require permits. Rules differ between Austria, Italy and Switzerland.<\/p>\n<h3>Why FPV in addition to the camera drone?<\/h3>\n<p>FPV adds speed and closeness: the drone follows the car through the hairpin.
