About VR-Copter: Jochen Riehm, Drone Pilot and Aerial DP from Stuttgart
VR-Copter is the drone team of Jochen Riehm. For more than ten years he has been flying for car manufacturers, agencies, film productions and broadcasters – more than 300 projects in 17 countries since 2015, from a museum fly-through in Stuttgart to a frozen lake in Lapland.
Pilot and camera operator in one person
Jochen plans the flights, operates the camera and coordinates directly with director, DoP, track management and drivers. That saves time on set: whoever operates the camera also decides the flight path. For large productions VR-Copter runs several units in parallel – cinema drone, FPV drone and camera car from one team.
What sets VR-Copter apart
- Automotive focus: race tracks, proving grounds, ice and coast – drone and car-to-car
- FPV since 2016: one of the first FPV operations in an automotive production – FPV drone
- Film and TV: since 2014 for SOKO Stuttgart (ZDF) – drone filming for film and TV
- Indoor: museums, halls and festival tents – indoor drone

VR-Copter is a registered operator and Jochen holds the EU remote pilot certificate A2.
