Drone Filming in the Swabian Jura: Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé in Motion
Rolling hills, winding country roads and a Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé in motion: in the Swabian Jura, VR-Copter followed the car from the air with the Inspire 2 – performance and landscape in one frame.

Brief and execution
The Swabian Jura offers what driving shots need: wide landscapes and sweeping roads. The car was staged in motion and the drone followed it from the air – bringing out lines, speed and design.
Flight planning is key: calm camera moves and precise lines only work if driver and pilot share the same choreography. That is why driving line, speed and camera move are agreed before every take.
Equipment and permits
DJI Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X7 in 4K.
Pilot and camera: Jochen Riehm. For driving shots on public roads, route, closures and permits are clarified in advance with production and authorities.
FAQ
Why shoot driving scenes with a drone?
The drone shows car and landscape in one move – ideal for establishing shots, tracking shots and reveals. For very close, fast perspectives we add an FPV drone or car-to-car.
Which roads are suitable for drone driving shots?
Winding roads with good visibility, little traffic and open airspace, for example in the Swabian Jura or the Alps. We check airspace restrictions and permits before the shoot.
What does a drone shoot for driving scenes cost?
A shoot day with a drone crew starts at €1,300 net, with Inspire 3 and cinema setup from €2,400 net, and as a combined drone, FPV and car-to-car package from €3,900 net – each including pilot, equipment, insurance and permit coordination.
