Drone Filming in Hanover: Mercedes-Benz EQB for the World Premiere

For Mercedes-Benz footage for the world premiere of the all-electric compact SUV EQB, VR-Copter flew the aerial shots in Hanover – with Inspire 2 and Zenmuse X7 in 6K.

Project details

  • Location: Hanover, Germany
  • Project: Mercedes-Benz EQB – world premiere
  • Client / production: Mercedes-Benz – high-end footage for the press reel; production: schwäble + wolf
  • Services: Aerial filming in 6K

Brief and execution

The EQB is an all-electric compact SUV with up to seven seats. For the premiere, the car was to be shown from perspectives you cannot get from the ground – car and surroundings in one move.

As with every world premiere, confidentiality applies: the footage stays under wraps until release, and locations and framing are agreed with the client.

Equipment and permits

DJI Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X7 in 6K – resolution with headroom for reframing and stabilisation in the edit.

Pilot and camera: Jochen Riehm. Flying in a city needs coordination: restricted airspace, distances to uninvolved people and, if needed, permits are clarified in advance.
