Drone Filming at the Boxberg Klassik Rally 2025: Classic Cars at the Bosch Proving Ground
Several days of rallying with historic cars and, as the finale, a parade on the high-speed oval of the Bosch proving ground in Boxberg: for Castor Film, VR-Copter delivered the aerial and driving shots at the Bosch Boxberg Klassik 2025.

Brief and execution
The Boxberg Klassik is a regularity and reliability run for historic cars: several days on demanding routes, with timed tests and the finish at the Bosch proving ground in Boxberg. The highlight is the classic-car parade on the high-speed oval. More about the event at Bosch Classic.
From the air we show what is hard to see from the ground: the start and cars driving out in formation, the routes winding through the landscape, the oval from above and the atmosphere among participants and spectators. Over several shoot days this produced footage for Castor Film.
Equipment and permits
Drone setup for aerial and driving shots, adapted to route, oval and spectator areas. Flight positions are chosen so that distances to spectators are kept.
Pilot and camera: Jochen Riehm. Flights on the proving ground in coordination with the operator, on public routes in line with the EU drone regulation.
FAQ
Can you film a classic-car rally with a drone?
Yes, with the organiser’s consent and in line with the EU drone regulation. On proving grounds the operator’s conditions apply as well. VR-Copter clarifies this in advance with production and organiser.
Can the drone follow moving cars?
Yes. Driving shots from the air are standard: the drone follows the car, overtakes it or shows it along the route. For very close, dynamic shots we add an FPV drone or car-to-car.
What does a drone shoot at an automotive event cost?
A shoot day with a drone crew starts at €1,300 net, with Inspire 3 and cinema setup from €2,900 net, and as a combined drone, FPV and car-to-car package from €3,900 net – each including pilot, equipment, insurance and permit coordination.
