Drone Filming at the Hungaroring: Aerials for Porsche with the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport
At the Hungaroring near Budapest, VR-Copter flew the aerials of the vehicle fleet for Porsche – from the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport to the road cars. Together with the magazine photographer, we created images for the Porsche Experience Stories magazine.

Brief and execution
For its customer magazine Porsche Experience Stories, Porsche wanted to show the whole fleet at the Hungaroring, with the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport as the highlight. Our job was the view from above: cars on track, through the corner sequences and in formation, matched to the look of the magazine photographer on the ground.
The shoot took place in autumn 2020. Because of COVID rules, entering Hungary was only possible with an invitation letter – a reminder that on international productions, organisation matters as much as flying.
Equipment and permits
DJI Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X7 in 6K for video and high-resolution stills, DJI Mavic 2 Pro as a second, fast camera.
Flight operations under the rules of the Hungarian aviation authority and with the circuit operator’s clearance. Since 2021 the EU drone regulation applies in Hungary; a German registration is valid across the EU.
FAQ
Can you fly in Hungary with a German drone registration?
Yes. Under the EU drone regulation, the operator registration is valid throughout the EU. You also need the circuit operator’s clearance and a check of local restrictions – VR-Copter handles this in advance.
Does VR-Copter deliver drone photos for magazines and print?
Yes. With the Inspire 2 and X7, or today the Inspire 3, we shoot stills at full sensor resolution, good enough for magazines, posters and catalogues.
How much does a drone shoot abroad cost?
A shoot day with a drone crew starts at €1,300 net, with Inspire 3 and cinema setup from €2,400 net, and as a combined drone, FPV and car-to-car package from €3,900 net – each including pilot, equipment, insurance and permit coordination.
