Drone Filming in the Dolomites: the Cinque Torri from Above
The Dolomites from the air: around the Cinque Torri, Jochen Riehm filmed with three drones in 2021 – Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X7 in 6K, Mavic 2 Pro and DJI FPV. The footage was shot on the Alpine tour of the Porsche Travel Experience and is shown here as a film of its own.

Brief and execution
The Cinque Torri near Cortina d’Ampezzo are among the best-known rock formations in the Dolomites. From the air you see what the ground cannot show: how the towers rise out of the slope and how far the panorama behind them reaches.
Each drone had its job: the Inspire 2 with X7 for the big, calm wide shots in 6K, the Mavic 2 Pro for quick changes of position and the DJI FPV for dynamic flights close to the rock.
The footage was shot during the Porsche Travel Experience over the Alpine passes. Here the Dolomites themselves take centre stage – as a landscape film of their own.

FAQ
Can you fly a drone in the Dolomites?
With restrictions. In Italy the ENAC rules apply, plus nature parks and protected areas with their own bans. Which areas are open depends on the exact location – we check this before every shoot.
Which drone suits landscape filming in high mountains?
For commercials and cinema, a drone with a large sensor and interchangeable lenses such as today’s Inspire 3. A compact drone for quick moves between spots, an FPV drone for dynamics. Wind, cold and altitude cost battery power, so we plan with reserves.
What does a drone shoot in the Alps cost?
A shoot day with a drone crew starts at €1,300 net, with Inspire 3 and cinema setup from €2,900 net, and as a combined drone, FPV and car-to-car package from €3,900 net – each including pilot, equipment, insurance and permit coordination.
